1st grade Program "You're A Wise Man, Charlie Brown"

1st grade  Program:  "You're a Wise Man, Charlie Brown"

We are extremely excited to present our 1st grade music program, “You’re a Wise Man, Charlie Brown” based on life lessons we can learn from the classic Peanuts gang.

First grade will be split into two programs in order to accommodate all the students. The programs will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the multipurpose room at Lewisburg Primary. Ms. Bechel, Ms. Davidson, Ms. McCracken, Ms. Morrow, and Ms. Totty’s classes will perform from 5:30-6:00. Ms. Burns, Ms. Hutchens, Ms. Yarbrough, and Ms. Walcott’s classes will perform from 6:30-7:00.

Since our music comes from the 1950’s, students need to dress in 50’s attire. Girls and boys may wear jeans rolled up with white socks and a white shirt. Girls may wear a scarf and/or a poodle skirt as well. Boys may also wear their hair slicked back and a leather jacket and girls may wear their hair in a ponytail.

If your child has been selected to have a speaking part (indicated by an attached slip to their parent letter sent home October 12), they will also need to dress in 50’s attire unless noted otherwise.

Please have your child dressed accordingly and at the school at 5:00 if they are in the 5:30 performance and at 6:00 if they are in the 6:30 performance to ensure we start and finish on time.   Once here, your child will report to their teacher’s classroom and the teacher will bring them to the multipurpose room. The program music is available on my teacher website to allow students to practice their songs at home. Once on my page (under LPS Staff websites) you will see “File Manager”. Go there to access all the music along with the words. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email (meribeth.long@dcsms.org) or phone (662-893-6001).   Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there!
