Hello. My name is Cynthia Dixon. As a native of the Lewisburg area, it is a great honor and privilege to be serving in such a wonderful community. For the past 21 years I have worked throughout the DeSoto County School District as a teacher and an assistant principal. With each year of experience came great growth as a professional and educator. I believe the each child has their own special key to the future. I also believe it is essential the parents and educators form a strong coalition to assist and direct each child in the process of unlocking a successful future. Therefore, I look forward to working with each and every student, parent/guardian and educator in this process.
I received my bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University in Elementary Education. After several years I decided to advance my career by pursuing a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi. These degrees helped me to work with some of the most incredible kids and professionals in DeSoto County. After many years of successful and positive experiences as a teacher, I received my specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.
I have been married for 20 years to Jarrod Dixon. We have two boys, Tye (at Lewisburg High School) and Jace Dixon (at Lewisburg Middle). I also have one beautiful niece, Lydia Harris who is at Lewisburg High School. As a mother and aunt, I recognize the vital importance of a quality education. As the old saying goes, "It takes a community to raise a child." I am excited that my family will have such a safe, educationally centered community in which to grow and prosper.
